Dear Michelle,
Our friendship is the longest and the best in my heart; it will always last. I haven't had much time lately to sit down and think or pick up the phone and call you. I'm so very sorry. It's like the poem I wrote you a few years back "You are my Best Friend." My mind has been so cluttered lately, you know what packing up my whole life always does to me. Well I just thought I could tell you once more how much I love you. We have been through good times and bad. You have helped me through my mother's death and through all the petty details of our adolescent lives (present day note: we were 17!! lol). You are the sister I could never have. It's really strange how we lose touch but then all the sudden be spending a lot of time together. Our destiny was to be friends and remain friends forever. I'll never forget you as long as I live. God hold so much in store for all of us and I wish for you to accomplish all you have planned for yourself. God bless you. Kiss mom and dad for me. I love you.

So, I called Michelle (Chel Leaving a Legacy) and cried while I read this to her. Now the irony is that God did have plans for us and it was not what we had planned at all. I was living like a heathen trampling all over the grace Christ had bestowed upon me and she did not even know my savior. God again in his infinite grace saw to it no matter where we lived we would remain friends. Now He allows us to proclaim His word and His name to others together!! We serve through an organization we founded in 2003 called WOVEN Ministries. We are Women Of the Vine Equipping Nations, to encourage, unite, equip, and GO!
What a Legacy we leave when unto the Lord God we cleave!!!
We are too blessed for words by our Lord and I am grateful He has chosen us and chosen us to serve Him together!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
My hubby read my blog and well, he is bringing in the boxes for me to dismantle the tree!! woo hoo! But it is a little sad, I was cutting out red hearts to hang on it....NOT!! ha ha!
Well seriously, he googled me, HA, and found my blog by way of Facebook. That is too funny!!!
Well go check out my other blog and give me a name of God as I still need to write one today. :-) I think I am nearly there!!
And you can pray for me as I batton down the hatches, memorize a verse or two, and prepare for another season. :-) My memory verse is this:
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Great 8!
Chere' at A Day in the Life made a list of 8 greats from 2008 and wanted to hear from others. So I thought instead of a simple comment which I will leave, it sounded like a great thing to do...Make a List of 8 greats of 2008.

Now me and my silly mind went "Grape Ape, Grape Ape" so this is my Great8!Ok enough silliness here is my list....
8. Got my braces off!!! Yeah, my teeth fit! I had a cross bite that was not very visible but my teeth did not fit when I would close my mouth. The braces aligned my teeth and fixed my overbite which was near to the border of disorder! I was grinding my teeth and not for the fun of it.
7. I started back to college at LeTourneau University with the full support of my family. I did not start school after high school but I began at Eastern Arizona in Thatcher, AZ. I took a handful of classes and moved on with my life. After much prayer and the promise of support I pursued enrollment at LeTourneau University. During the phone interview with the admissions counselor I was so tickled when she asked if taking the required Bible classes would be a problem. I gladly answered "bring IT on!". I thought she would never ask. Praise God for Christ Centered Schools! I love LeTourneau!
6. I attended a Roaring Lambs Christian Writers Conference...should have been called a retreat. I was witness to some powerful healing in a family - the Key Note Speaker's family!!!
5. Blessed in February by musical group that is new to me: The McRae's and I love reading the blog by Annie McRae. (same link btw) This power little lady, Annie, wrote most of the songs. She and Amanda were a true blessing at Macedonia Baptist Church. I can't wait to attend Feminar this year there again. Janet White is wonderful and this year Point of Grace is coming back!
4. Started a new job, same field (insurance), and our ladies ministry is about to be 6 years old!
3. My cousin and his son were reunited in relationship. Long story! What a mighty God we serve!
2. My cousin (a different one) walked away from drugs accepted Christ! And he is a literal sponge in the word! He can't get enough!! And he sings too!
1. Saw the shackles of sin and bondage drop in my home.
Praise God He truly showed up in 2008!

My Family
I am so proud of my family. We spent time together and everyone lived!! lol, No, seriously, we had fun and I know Nana is very proud of her pictures. I wanted to share this one with you because it did turn out nice!

My Foolishness, HIS Holiness
Perhaps the moment I truly knew Jesus deeply loved me and longed for me was when I was 17. I had been living like an utter heathen, simply disgraceful! One day while with my friend we returned to her home and there I met a woman who looked extremely familiar. I could not recall who she was; but she was Mrs. Brown, Jamie’s grandmother. My memories rushed to me back from when I was 5 years old. I was in my Sunday school class with Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Brown. This was the Mrs. Brown who led me to Jesus! I felt Jesus inside me and realized He had been there all along; my wonderful, merciful Savior had never left me! I felt a love I could not explain or even begin to understand. Although I was not completely on the right track after that moment, I was now determined to try. After turning 18, I moved in with my aunt and uncle, 6 hours from home. I knew my sinful ways were deeply engrained within me, but I was finally listening to the voice I had worked so hard to ignore.
At age 23, married and living in another state I began to read the Bible starting in James. With my heart, eyes, and ears open I read James 4:17, “For he who knows the good he ought to do and does not do it, to him it is a sin.” These words pierced my heart and although they may not sound like a love note to you, they sure were to me! I finally realized, through this verse, that Jesus had more in store for my life and it was more than I could ever imagine. This verse serenaded the deepest parts of my soul. Even though I was completely clueless to His plans, that verse shook something deep within me. Then in my foolishness, I began to create my mental check list of do’s and don’ts. The epitome of a goody two shoes I would be; furthermore, I became a stark contrast to the heathen at the beginning of this story. Now I knew beyond all doubt that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16. Jesus had my attention and my all, finally. My good and bad checklist seemed to working for me or was it? I thought back to lining up the neighborhood boys when I was in 4th grade and telling them how their language would send them to the “bad place.” There seems to have been a Pharisee in the making and my checklist needed to go. In total grace and love for me, my Jesus inoculated my Pharisaical ways and set me free. I now realized that a check list was not on His list of desires for my life, but a heart full of devotion was.
Even as late as yesterday, I stand amazed over the Word of God and His people. I learned from Joni Eareckson Tada that I can borrow the Savior’s smile when I cannot seem to find mine. Beth Moore posted on her blog to for her readers to pray for her since she was to speak from 2 Corinthians 3-5 this week. In order to pray specifically, I opened my Bible and began to read, while relishing every word, I found something new that caused my soul to shudder. I discovered that my soul is a letter! In verse 2, Paul tells his readers that they are a letter, “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.” This struck me to the innermost! Our souls are letters about the cross, the empty tomb, and a living breathing walking talking testimony of our Wonderful, Merciful Savior. I need nothing else to fall for on the face of this earth. I have no need of cupid’s arrows or love potion #9 when I have the Word of God, the scent of Jesus, and His Holiness to cover up my foolishness.

Laugh At ME Moment!!
Ok, you four readers you are going to get a giggle in your soul and a tickle in innerds out of this.
I started off having a very bad day mood wise today. I won't go into all the details but after reading an article in the Discipleship Journal (Sept/Oct 2008) by Joni Eareckson Tada titled, "Borrowing God's Smile," I realized that I did not borrow His smile this morning or even ask for one. But He chose to give it to me anyway!
BTW, this will lead into another name of God to share about later, Man of Sorrows. I will go more into this smile-thang with that post, so stay tuned.
Back on track, I never get side tracked I do not know what is wrong with me...lol...This article showed me a thing or two. But His Smile taught me a lot.
My hubby and I were not on a great page this morning. I accomplished a HUGE long over due task last night and was up until 1:00 AM finishing it. I felt unnoticed and unappreciated for a list of reasons. We said I love you and I left for work....late....and I was a complaining desert dweller!
I called him and told him that I noticed the bath tub was not draining and it was either after washing our quilt or cleaning the shower, either way he said he would take a look at it. This was 10:00 AM.
11:00 AM the phone rings, it is hubby. He said that he had called to tell me about the drain problem. The tub was PLUGGED! Yes you read that right. I poured "stuff" down it and used the plunger. All the while during the process of cleaning the tiles I had hit the lever and plugged the tub!!! Too funny!!! I cracked my lips here but read the next paragraph for my full smile!!!
In a way that when only a humble man (ie Hubby) or God himself can do, I was made to smile with God's smile...hubby told me not to feel too bad because he had done the same thing. But he took even more drastic measures than I had. I only plunged twice and poured stuff once then walked away. He said he plunged like crazy and worked hard trying to figure out the problem only to find the drain was plugged.
The point, even though I read this article at lunch, I recognized in hindsight that I had failed to ask Jesus for His smile. I awoke not really feeling like sharing one of mine. My hubby and I were not exactly full of grace with one another, now it was not dis-grace, but still. Lesson learned here, I must ask Jesus for His glorious breath taking smile when I can't muster one up. And as I read in 2 Corinthians 3 today that I am a letter to others. My soul is the writing on the cross and the empty tomb, a living walking breathing testimony of my Wonderful Merciful Savior and I had a frown, well really more than that. I was down right pitiful!!! Being the Wonderful Merciful Savior that He is, even though I did not ask for it, He delivered His smile anyway!
Wow!!! What Grace that continues to amaze me! I should probably let someone read that chapter on my soul!!

You know we ask for His heart to love, His eyes to see, His appetite for the WORD, etc.
But I ask God to Bless Me and You ALL and May (I) You Smile with God's Smile especially when we misplace ours.

Flavour of Ice Cream? Mocha Almond Fudge (It must be a conspiracy! But it can't be just any old Mocha Almond Fudge, the almonds must be coated with delicious chocolate or sugar!)

Hometown? The Body of Christ, TX
Indulgences? Back massages and Pedicures. Wish I had a huge tub for the love of baths that I have!!
January or July? Depends on why, financially July because January is after Christmas and both the kiddos bdays! But it is can be cold and the July can be HOT! Hmmm, can I get back to you?
Kids? 2 one boy one girl! I am done! (isn't that right Lord?)
Last Movie I saw in a Theater? I think it was Raiders of the Lost Ark (the new one)
Middle Name? Lynn, I am a child of the 70's! I could have been Lori Jean, no offense to anyone but thank you Daddy for naming me! I like Rachele Lynn! I could have done without my maiden name though. LOL
Number of Siblings? No natural ones that I know of!! My dad was a well, he got around I hear. Now, onto the better side, I thought about NOT mentioning her here cuz she made a plea for more!!! lol, but I will cuz see, Chel and I are sisters! Our mom's were besties when mine was alive and we all miss her very much! :-) We were both only children and have known each other since we were three! I would tell you how long that has been then you would know how old we are! Seriously, I too want to have more Spiritual Sisters too!
Oranges or Apples? Apples. I love apple crisp a la mode!
Phobia or Fear? Phobia! I hate spiders, was bit by a brown recluse. I did not see did not feel it until later then several shots and doctor's visits later I have a lovely scar just NW of my left well, it is on my chest! Good thing I cover up!! It is like a friend of mine, Janet White, said while speaking at a conference.....your breasts are for your husband's pleasure not your neighbor's husband!!! Cover them up as gifts and show him (your husband) later!. AMEN or OH ME!! lol
Reason to Smile? When I get a call, email, or blog comment from someone who says they were thinking of me and just wanted to give me a call. When my daughter displays her humor and my little man mixes up his words. He used to say, turn the radio a lit bittle. oooo how sweet! And When I Think About the Lord; no matter what I find myself in He always makes me grin! awww, did not intend the rhyme, oh well. Also, when I read this verse John 3:16, then I looked up the original language and saw that it applies to daily life NOT just salvation!!! Yes, I know!!!

Let's see if I can think of something ODD....I love analogies and they are even funnier when I am mad. :-)
Vegeterian or Oppressor of Animals? I like steak and fajitas, and chicken, and pork, and bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon!
Worst Habit? Procrastination.... Eh hem, can I answer later?
Xrays or Ultrasounds? Ultrasounds, skip the Xray you usually have to go back any way and that is unneccessary cost and time wasted.
Your favourite Food? Ok, I will just go with what, beyond the Lord, fills me to the uttermost, Mousaka from Scampi's Meditteranean Cafe in Fort Worth, TX - next time we have WOVEN conference in Texas you all come and we will go there!
